We have had the privilege of been selected as a school to take part in the Community Apprentice programme which is organised by Envision. The programme is an interschool competition which requires young people to work as a team to raise money for a charity. Prior to Christmas a group of year 10 students were set the challenge of raising money for the charity ‘ Midland Free Wheelers’, who work voluntarily alongside the emergency services to transport blood across the country in life threatening emergencies. I am proud to say that our students made a remarkable effort and rose over £200. Throughout their time on the programme, students demonstrated excellent teamwork and creativity skills but above all determination and grit. They were congratulated for their efforts at the final boardroom meeting held at Aston University, whereby some of them were presented with the gold ‘change maker’ badge. One of our students was also lucky in bagging herself a £20 Nandos voucher!

A massive well done to all of the students involved!
