“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language that goes to his heart.” Nelson Mandela

“One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way.”  Frank Smith

Learning a language provides you with a life skill. Knowledge of a foreign language is a concrete and demonstrable life skill, and it is highly valued by colleges, universities and employers. From Year 7 onwards, our aim within the MFL department is to develop a passion for learning languages. We cover a range of topics which are exciting, relevant and interesting.  Gaining a French or Spanish GCSE (along with Maths, English, Science and History or Geography) will award you the English Baccalaureate.
