Personal Development and Character Education
At Holy Trinity Catholic School, we place equal importance on the academic, spiritual and social development of all students. The personal development and well-being of our students runs throughout all aspects of school life. As a school we foster a clear ethos of aspiration with consistent and high expectations of all pupils to reach their full potential. We aim to provide a breadth of opportunity to help unlock that potential.
We are proud of the strong and shared sense of pride in belonging to our school community. We have clear parameters which promote good behaviour and self- discipline. Our consistent promotion of a range of positive behaviour traits (consideration, compassion, respect and good manners) are taught to students, modelled by staff and openly celebrated when they occur through our systems of praise, recognition and reward.
Our student’s personal growth is developed through:
- Discreet Personal and Social Development lessons which are delivered 1 hr a week (1hr a fortnight at KS4). We are incredibly proud of our challenging and engaging personal development curriculum. This is where our age-appropriate Relationships, Sex and Health Education is taught (RSHE).
- Citizenship- assemblies, tutor time, focus weeks and drop-down days
- Character education which is aligned with our pastoral systems, holistic curriculum and school ethos
- Enrichment and wider opportunities
- Careers education- GATSBY benchmarks
- British Values and Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural (SMSC) experiences
- Inclusion and equal opportunities
- Work with external agencies
