Our Learning Resource Centre

The LRC provides a friendly, supportive environment for students at Holy Trinity. It is a busy and thriving hub, where all students are welcome.

The LRC is ideal for reading and browsing books, studying, homework and research.

  • Students have access to an ever-increasing range of fiction and non-fiction texts and support is available to help students choose interesting and enjoyable reading material, therefore encouraging our students to become life-long readers. We are continually buying new texts and students regularly request new additions to the catalogue.
  • Throughout the year we hold special events including Book Quizzes, competitions, events for World Book Day and World Book Night – to name a few!  As a school that values reading, we enjoy the buzz around reading for pleasure and foster a love of reading.

Monday – Friday :

Before school 8:00am – 8:35am

Break time 11:00 – 11:15

Lunch time 1.20pm – 2pm

After school 3:00pm – 3:45pm (please note on Wednesdays the LRC may be closed after school for staff training)

Whilst we endeavour to open at the times above, there are occasions when we need to close after school for training or to hold other extra-curricular events etc. We will always try and inform students of these changes and give as much notice as possible.

If you have any questions or queries about the LRC or reading, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs E Stafford or Mrs G Smith by either phoning the school or emailing estafford@holytrc.bham.sch.uk / gsmith@holytrc.bham.sch.uk

All students have access to Sora – an online reading app that can be accessed for free via tablets, desktop PCs, chromebooks and phones. Students have access to 1000s of e-books and hundreds of audio books. This is at no cost to students! The app can be downloaded in the App Store or Google Play store for tablets and phones. Students will use their school username and password to access Sora.  Open up a world of reading here
