Letter to Parents – Sparx Science

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are excited to inform you that from Monday 15 June 2026 your child will be using Sparx Science to complete their Science homework. Sparx provides highly personalised homework to students, tailored to their individual attainment level and working speed.

Homework will be set every week.

Students will be shown how to access and complete their homework by their Science teacher. Sparx Science can be accessed on any device that connects to the internet with a web browser.

We understand how important your child’s success is to you. Below, you’ll find information about Sparx Science, along with practical advice on how you can support weekly completion.

What is Sparx Science?

  • Homework will mostly focus on topics recently covered in class, along with consolidation questions on previously covered topics to embed prior learning.
  • Students receive immediate feedback for each question about whether their answer was correct or they need to have another try. They earn rewards via XP for completion and effort.
  • Every Sparx Science question has support available, helping your child find the guidance they need on their own. This ensures they always have the tools to succeed.
  • Students also have the autonomy to further develop their scientific knowledge if they desire, via the ‘Independent Learning’ section of the platform.
  • Homework will only be marked complete when 100% of the questions are answered correctly

How can you help your child with their homework?

    • Provide a quiet space for your child to focus on their homework, with minimal distractions.
    • Encourage your child to start their homework early.
    • Allow your child to attempt questions independently as Sparx Science will automatically adjust the level of questions provided based on your child’s answers.
    • Keep track of your child’s progress with their homework by checking the weekly email sent to you from Sparx.
    • Find out more about Sparx Science here: https://sparxscience.com/

What support is available at Holy Trinity Catholic School?

  • Students can attend Sparx Club for support every Monday lunchtime (1.30-1.50pm).
  • Students may also complete homework in the school library during break and/or lunch.
  • If homework is not completed, students will be issued with a 30-minute detention on Monday (3.00-3.30pm).

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs Yusuf.

Kind regards,

Mrs Yusuf
