Message from the Head – Heatwave Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to inform you that following the red weather alert, safety and comfort are paramount and we continue to closely to monitor all guidance issues by DfE, BCC Authority and our MAC. Whilst we are doing our very best to prioritise the education and safety of all pupils, escalating and cumulative heat and temperatures continue to pose a challenge. Therefore, the decision has been made that school will close early today Wednesday 24th June at 2.10pm and tomorrow Thursday 25th June at 12.30pm  for all pupils. There will be provision on site for pupils who need to remain until 3pm but please contact the school if this is the case. These pupils will be moved to air conditioned rooms.

This decision has not been taken lightly but for health and safely reasons and despite our best efforts of both pupils and staff, conditions have now become extremely challenging with continuously rising temperatures.

I will update up immediately should there be any further changes and thank you for your understanding and support.

Mrs J Daw
Headteacher
