‘No pens day’ is a huge success

Well done to everyone involved on such a successful ‘no pens day’
There were so many fantastic activities taking place across the school, all focused on developing students’ oracy skills. These included Guess the Word, Taboo and other word games, sports and instrument-based activities, team games, quizzes, creating models, debates, learning sign language, student presentations, no-filler-word challenges, finding places in an atlas, ‘Pass it on’ in MFL, language games, rapping, show and tell, and charades.
Student feedback has been extremely positive, with many describing the day as “fun,” “interesting,” and “interactive.” Subjects that students have told me they particularly enjoyed included Maths, History, MFL, RE and Geography. Thanks all for inspiring our students to try something new.
You can find some of the photos from today below.
It was truly amazing to see Kade in Year 8 play the keyboard, and days like today remind us how meaningful it is to witness our students’ hidden talents and creativity come to life. Each of our students is unique, and days like this provide opportunities for them to express themselves, build confidence, and be celebrated beyond the written word. Ultimately, it has been a wonderful day for our students, and this would not have been possible without the thought, planning and preparation that went into today’s lessons. And well done and thank you to Mrs Smith for being the inspiration behind today!
