Dear parents and carers,
I hope this email finds you well and you are enjoying a fabulous summer!
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that I will be leaving my position as Headteacher at Holy Trinity Catholic School. My last day in post will be the 31st December 2025. This has been a very difficult decision to make. Being the Headteacher at Holy Trinity over these last 10 years, and serving the wider community of Small Heath, has been the greatest privilege. I have taken the decision to leave because I have reached a point in my family life which requires me to dedicate more time to being at home. A key factor in this decision is that my eldest daughter sits her GCSE examinations in May 2026; I want to be available more to support her.
The St Teresa of Calcutta MAC with the support of Local Governors, the Diocesan Education Service and SATIS Education, are advertising to recruit for a new substantive Headteacher to commence post at Holy Trinity on 1st January 2026. The job advert has now gone ‘live’ and is in the public domain. It is the intention for candidates to be interviewed for this post on Friday 26th September.
I will provide you with updates as and when I receive them. I will also explain in more detail my decision to our fabulous Holy Trinity pupils in assemblies during the first full week back in September. I will miss our pupils greatly and hope that in the time I have remaining, I can continue to support them in their belief that they ‘can achieve anything’.
Holy Trinity is an ‘Outstanding’ Catholic School with all aspects of its provision in a very strong position. At the time of writing this, I am delighted to celebrate Holy Trinity’s finest set of GCSE results in my time here. A huge congratulations to our fabulous pupils! I have no doubt that the school will continue to develop and improve further in the years ahead. We pray for the very best candidates to apply for this most privileged position.
Best wishes,
Mr C Crehan
