On Friday 20th June, Year 9 and some of Year 8 visited the National Holocaust centre and museum. The flower photos are from the memorial gardens. The stones are a living memorial where students laid stones to remember each of the 1.5 million children’s lives lost in the Holocaust and the statue was created to remember the 6 million Jewish lives lost.
Students also visited the exhibition, took part in workshops where they discussed themes of prejudice, discrimination and blame as well as listening to survivor testimony.
The students who came with us had a great day, were respectful and have added to their knowledge of a key historical event (most of year 9 and 20 year 8 students).
